Cozy Afternoon Block 4 and Giveaway !

This giveaway is closed now, but thank you for your interest!

Are y'all ready for the latest in our block of the month? This has been so much fun, and this block is really cute!

Oh, I need to let you see it a little closer, don't I? Let's zoom in!

I love the mug on this block . . . no fragile cups for this quilter -- we go full bore here in the studio, with great big mugs of java or tea! (grin)

Isn't this little bird adorable?

Love how these colors look in this block:

Here's another peek at how they are playing together:

Didn't get my points exactly right, but hopefully it won't be too noticeable when the whole top is sewn together!

Here is another shot of the whole block:

  1. I love a heavy mug for coffee or hot chocolate but for tea, I'd rather have a tea cup. I do not like a Styrofoam cup. :) but I will use what is on hand.
I would love a cheery yellow gingham mug! it's so pretty

  24. This is sew much fun...it is a mug for me with tea or coffee!!! Thank you for sharing!

  25. I prefer a large mug for coffee or tea. Not the thick walled ones, though, and it needs to hold at least 2 regular sized cups. No plastic or artificial feeling ones, either...must be ceramic or glass.
I decided to do the applique method for the blocks, even though the other two methods are probably easier. I think I was embroidering before the age of 5 and started sewing. I was able to make clothing by the age of 7. I stopped using patterns about 3 decades ago, as they seemed so tedious. I like to just look at a piece of fabric and "wing it!" I used the same wing it method for my first quilt at age 16, and the results were...uhmmm...not great. lisajcowell@cs.com
