A sneak peek -- and some farm animals

We love quilting here at the Lilypad.

We love it too much sometimes.

If you are like me, you not only have UFOs (Unfinished Objects) in your sewing area, you also have PIGS..... (Grin)

No, no, not those PIGS.

These PIGS -- Project in Grocery Sack!!

Or ziploc bag or even the box the fabric shipped in, if we fell off the stash wagon and purchased some!

You've done this, too, I just know you have! You have a pattern and you pull some fabric and think to yourself, "Self, I don't want you to forget that this fabric goes with this pattern!" So you put everything into a bag and put it aside for just a little while......

Some are large PIGS and take up a good bit of room. Some are smaller and don't take up too much room, and could easily be finished in a weekend.

But they lurk in our sewing areas and we may even pull them out and pat them sometimes, and talk to them, but we "have so much going on" in our lives that we don't get any work done on them!

(No, that's not my sewing room. Just wishful thinking on my part.)

I found one of my PIGS recently and just "took a notion" as my Grandma used to say, and started working on it!

What I found in my bag were charm packs of a fabric collection by Sandy Klop (American Jane) by Moda. The packs are called "Le Petite Poulet," which I believe translates loosely to "the little chicken," since there are some chickens on some of the squares! Chicken wire on some of them, too!

The fabrics are so much fun! Reds, yellows, blues, and greens.
I want to give credit where credit is due.....this particular PIGS was from a blog post by Karrielynne over at Freckled Whimsy, four or five years ago.

I also found some charm packs of Bella Solid white in the bag.

I made HSTs.

I made lots of HSTs.
In fact, I made over 150 HSTs. (Grin)

And then I made four patches.
Yep, you got it, lots of four patches! Only about 80 of those.

Now I just have to find time to finish getting all of these squared up!!

I'm linking up this week with Lorna, over at the Let's Bee Social party! Hop back over and see what she's making -- cute hedgehogs and more!

Stay tuned, I will post more on this project soon!

Flash sales -- ya gotta check it out!

A quick note here....this post may contain affiliate links! Click on the Full Disclosure tab above to see our affiliate policy!

This week I fell off the "no more fabric" wagon.... BOOM!

I couldn't help it!

At least it was a short fall. (I didn't spend a lot.)  Know why? I was checking out the FLASH SALE at our good buddies, the Fat Quarter Shop! Yeah, click on that link! (Grin)

As an example of the sales you might see there, I purchased a charm pack of Vintage Adventure. Five inch squares of the cute fabrics from Beverly McCullough for Riley Blake Designs:

I love the campers, hot air balloons, and happy colors!

I spent all of $2.19! I have a partial pack of Bella solid charms left that will play nicely with those cute 5 inch squares, and make a nice tabletopper!

I love a bargain, and I bet you do, too! The FLASH sales are a great way to grab something at a reduced price -- many times it will be something you have had your eye on! The sale item changes every day, so it's fun to just look each day at what is on sale.

Stay tuned, I have a project ongoing and I hope to share some pictures soon!

Picking alternate winners!

Sometimes these things happen.....

We had two winners who did not respond to our announcement, and I had no way of reaching them. No emails given!

I'm sad for them, but happy for two other Lilypad followers who will be happy dancing about their prizes soon!

First, the wonderful patterns from Jacquelynne Steves - two complete Block of the Month lovelies!

Our winner is Molly and Rex's mom, Christine, from "down under." You can see her awesome blog at this link.

Congrats on winning the prize!

Then, the Hoffman Fabrics prize bundle! A huge stack of gorgeous fat quarters!

Our winner is Sharon of Vrooman's Quilts! She blogs here at this link, and she entered a wonderful custom quilt in our show.

We'll be emailing you soon and your sponsor will send your prizes!

Thanks for participating in the 2018 Pets on Quilts Show!!

Prayers for the Carolinas

As Hurricane Florence nears the coasts of both the Carolinas, we are sending our thoughts and prayers to our friends and neighbors there.

We will feel the effects, too, further inland in the state.  We are stocked up on non-perishable food, gasoline, batteries, and the like. The things around the farm that can blow away are secured. We know that we probably will lose power, and perhaps for many days, but we know the storm surge and rainfall will be far more devastating down there in the coastal areas.

I know that in the coming days, Carolinians of all walks of life will unite and show the kindness, generosity, and faith that we are known for.

Stay safe -- stay sheltered. Our lives are far more important than any things we may leave behind.

We're watching. And praying.

Hand picked for y'all!

Sale! ALL Craftsy Classes Under $20 at Craftsy.com 9/7-9/9/18.

I just had to post and tell you about this great opportunity to get that Craftsy class you've had your eye on!

I'm loving Craftsy because of the great variety of classes that I have been enjoying, and plus, it's like having some really great quilters come to your studio to work with you!

Take a class from some wonderful and creative peeps:

This is a fabulous class - Marti is fun to listen to and watch, and this is an awesome way to complete large projects!

Try this one:

I really was inspired by this, and learned new ways to quilt my projects!

This is my next one to try -- paper piecing has always kicked my butt. I'm gonna see if Carol Doak can pull me through! (Grin)

I really loved this one - scrappy is my thing, and I learned how to really get some mix and match loveliness, instead of mish mash scraps! Edyta Sitar has a wonderful, friendly style of teaching!

So please, tap that button at the top, or the one on our sidebar (right hand side, at the top) and try a class or two that appeal to you..... there are so many! (Yup, I'm an affiliate, and I will get a teensy commission to help me with my stash and notions - your price won't change a bit!)

Have fun!!
