Ohhhh, so tempting!

Hi there!

(Sidles up close)

(Looks around, to see if anyone else is near)

We're all quilters and sewists here, right?

(You nod and smile.)

Well, ya know how it is . . . ya have these fabrics that caught your eye a few years back. Actually they sang a siren song to you, even knew your name.
Before you knew it, those fabrics were in your hands, and you were overcome by the color, the feel, and the creative urges and new designs that danced in your imagination.

Well, that's how it is with me, anyway. (Grin)

Take a peek at these lovelies:

Be. Still. My. Heart.

These babies have been waiting patiently for me. Each time I think about a new project, they sing softly and remind me they are here.

Sometimes I take them out and show them some love, but I have never been able to bring myself to use them. Not yet. But now I think it's time.

My new design is a super way to showcase these, and still have enough left for a quilty project later!

By the way, in case you are wondering, these are some Kona Bay Asian fabrics that are definitely drool worthy!

I'm trying to find time to work on this, and put together a tutorial for you. Been hard lately. There are these things called bills that keep popping up in my mailbox, and these people that expect them to be paid. So, Heigh ho, heigh ho, it's off to work I go. But I will find time to play! (Folds arms, looks determinedly at you) I promise!

Hot, hot, hot!!

Brrr . . . that title is just wishful thinking for me, but for our special friend "down under" it's a reality!

Remember this?

Our buddy, Mhairi, reports that in her area the temps have been over 100 degrees for several days now!

Want to see what she is doing for fun?

Check out these cuties:

(sorry, blogger loaded it sideways on me!)

Aren't they adorable?

I just love these cute critters that she made for her kiddos! It must not be too hot to sew, right? (Grin)

Mhairi is the lovely creator of DragonDrop, who frolics here at the Lilypad. He's blowing kisses all the way across the ocean to her!

See you all again soon!

I'm sorry, but . . .

UPDATE: Please read this and then read all of the comments! It seems that this may be a scam, so please protect yourself!

Recently I have been receiving requests to become "friends" with some special peeps. I know that they are special because I recognize many of the Lilypadquilting followers by name or by alias.

But dang it, I just have so much on my plate!
(Now I'm hungry!)

When I click on their request, it takes me to a page where I need to jump through some more hoops, apparently signing up for something new to me.

(Deep breath)  I know I need to embrace technology. I know I am an old fogey, and I have put OleFrogEyes on Facebook, and I "do" Flickr, and I struggle valiantly to blog in between stints at making a living.....

But it's gettin' hard to keep up, folks.  I know there are "circles" and "hangouts" and cool things to do on the interwebs, but I'm stretched pretty thin right now!
Not to mention the fact that I value a certain amount of anonymity . . .  (you have noticed that I blog as "Snoodles," right?).  (Wink)
To those of you who have reached out to me and I've not yet responded . . . PLEASE EXCUSE ME!!

I hope that I will not lose you as a follower, or offend you. I hope that you will continue to visit and enjoy the merriment and mayhem that we dish out here at the Lilypad.

But please don't ask me to sign up for anything more! (Grin)  I'm doin' my best to post often enough so that you don't forget who I am!

Oh, and I'm auditioning some pretty fabrics and will be posting a new project soon . . . maybe you'll join me and we can make it together!

And how are YOU doing?

Are you like so many of us that made some resolutions for this new year? Or maybe not?

(With grateful thanks to Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin and Hobbes)

Did you commit to yourself that you were going to find more time to quilt? To learn a new technique? More time to blog? That you would find time to exercise and get healthy?

(Nope, that's not me. 'Twould be nice, but it's not. Though my exercise routine IS old school; no gym membership or fancy-schmancy machine here at home. Just lots of "sweatin' to the oldies"! Grin)

Hmmmmmm?

Inquiring minds want to know.

And to offer support . . . because we are ten days into the new year and you may be wavering a little bit! Me? I'm sticking to my guns so far, and keeping the exercising going. I can't say that the scale reflects my hard work yet (just two pounds down), but I know it will come!

And I am looking through my design notebook, deciding which of my original quilt designs I'd like to make and write a tutorial for!

How about you? How are YOU doing?

Lovely things in the mail

Happy New Year, y'all!!

I know, my southern is showing. But that's OK!

Recently I participated in pattern testing and a blog hop utilizing one of Terri Stegmiller's fun patterns!

We had a ball; the pattern was easy and fun, and we loved the result!

Terri sent me a thank you and I just HAD to show you!! (Grin)

First, a super pattern for a tote bag.....this looks like another one of Terri's awesome, clear patterns. I hope to make this up soon.

Next, some lovely note cards.....I enjoy sending notes to people to cheer and encourage them, and I love to send ones that show what I'm all about! (Padsworth and DragonDrop think that I need some that feature frogs and dragons, but I haven't seen too many of those!)

Look at these adorable kitty cards!

You should check out Terri's shop and see what she has. . . . these note cards are on high quality paper and the colors are stunning!

And look at what else was in the package:

I am over the moon in love with this memo pad holder. Check out the gorgeous colors, and the couching on the exterior:

Beautiful!

Thank you so much, Terri!

More merriment and mayhem coming soon!

Love,
