Summer Sales

Don'tcha just love it when the stores have their summer sales? Are you a bargain hunter like me?

Well, then, you need to know about another one of our wonderful Pet Show sponsors . . . Abbi Mays Fabric Shop!

Abbi Mays is a repeat sponsor -- by that I mean that Linda has been a gracious sponsor in the past, and has signed on again for 2013! Thanks, Linda!

Abbi Mays is an incredible online resource for us quilters and sewists -- and one thing that I really can appreciate is the great way their site is laid out. It's so easy to find what you are looking for! That takes a lot of thought and planning, much like laying out the shelves and aisles in a real store, and it makes shopping even more fun!

If your cursor hovers over the word "Batik" on the Abbi May's site, you will see an awesome array of different batiks to choose from -- or you can use the drop down menu and search by manufacturer. Are you searching for some Anthology Batiks? She's got those:

How about some Henry Glass Hip Happier? Yep, got those too:

Maybe you are searching for Red Rooster's Gaslight line? Here it is:

And here is some good news for us bargain hunters -- Be one of Abbi May's "Special Customers" for secret sales, new product arrivals and a special code in the newsletter to receive $5 off your next order over $25!
Whoo hooo! Just sign up on the site for the newsletter to appear in your inbox, and you are off to the races, well, ready to go shopping!

Just in time, too, because in their sale department, cottons were an already low price of $6.27 per yard and now they are even lower: $5.02 per yard!  (Excuse me!!)

Ahem. Padsworth here, taking over for Snoodles who is currently salivating over the sale fabrics at Abbi Mays......I sure appreciate Linda at Abbi Mays, and her sponsorship of a $25 gift certificate to her store, for one of our lucky drawing winners at the Pets on Quilts show next month!

Hop on over and check out the store!

Quilt MICE? Yep, and they are a sponsor!

Since I "met" Lynn of Thimblemouse and Spouse blog, I have enjoyed stopping by to see what she has been up to . . .
Lately she has been super busy. Like me. Sigh.

But look at her Tammy bag post here.

And her Stamp On It post here.  That flamingo is amazing!

Wowser, she is talented! Well, she is also a quilt shop owner extraordinaire! The next time I head down to Florida, I hope to stop in at the Country Crossroads shop.
Lynn says on her blog that her hubby, Bob, is the long arm quilter of the family, and that she enjoys designing quilts and enabling, er, introducing others to the quilting addiction, er, hobby! (Grin)

Country Crossroads offers quality fabrics from famous makers: Timeless Treasures, Kona Bay, South Seas, (I'm feeling tropical all of a sudden!) Andover, Northcutt, and many, many more. They have batiks, traditionals, bold and brights, and even college logo fabrics!

And they've partnered with us as a Pets on Quilts show sponsor!

Yay!!!!!

You can see from the blog that they are good candidates for the job . . . they love their kitties:

This cameo appearance is from the Meowza page on the blog!

And Maggie (seen below) is an Official Quilt Inspector and also is the Official Quilt Shop Dog:

Maggie's photo is courtesy of the shop web site! She's stylin'!

The Quilt Mice and Country Crossroads shop will be opening an online arm of their store soon, and they are offering an adorable fat quarter bundle to one of our lucky Pet Show winners!

Check this out!

Thank you to Thimblemouse and Spouse, Country Crossroads store, and to Maggie and the Meowza gang, who help keep the humans there on track!

Love,

Help me to welcome another sponsor! (Drool alert!)

It's wonderful when sponsors have so much fun and such good results that they sponsor another show! Marcia's Crafty Sewing and Quilting offered prizes last year, and she is doing it again in 2013!

Are you ready? This is definitely a post that needs a drool alert . . . just wait. Grab your cuppa and let's look at some examples of Marcia's long arm quilting craftsmanship:

Are ya ready for more? OK, but don't say I didn't warn you -- there will be some keyboards that need mopping up after this! (Grin)

Marcia is an avid photographer, as well, and has turned some of her great quilting projects into notecards that you can find here.

She has certified Quilting Inspectors that help her each day:

Marcia will be providing two prizes! Two lucky Pets on Quilts 2013 winners will receive her pattern for the Easy Quilt. (You can click there and take a peek at all of her great patterns.)

It's incredible how many different looks can be achieved by varying the fabric choices on this pattern:

We're thrilled to have Marcia back again as a sponsor (waving -- "thanks, Marcia!"), and we hope that you will hop over to her site and make yourself at home. Introduce yourself and "set a spell." You'll be glad you got to know her!

You know it's going to be one of those days . . .

. . . when you get going on your chain piecing for half square triangles; you're zipping along with the pedal to the metal; you're thinking to yourself that "this block is going to go together so quickly!" . . .

. . . and then you realize that your bobbin thread ran out eight or ten squares ago.

Can I get an "Amen" here?  Does this happen to you?
