* Warning * Fabric Yumminess Ahead!

If I were to ask you, "what is your favorite flower?" what would you answer? Cheerful daisies?

Elegant lilies?

Roses?  I pick these, and soon you'll know why . . .

How about if I asked you about your favorite flavor of sweets? Ahhh, I hear a resounding ovation for chocolate!

Some said vanilla!

(Wow, this is making me hungry!!)

Well, I say butterscotch!

Ya wanna know why??

Here's a clue!

Check this out, Lilypadquilters!   I won this delicious bundle of fat quarters from Fig Tree Quilts!

As part of the Moda Country Fair blog hop, I visited Joanna Figueroa's blog, Fresh Figs, and had a jolly time there. She is a fabulous designer, and shared a neat project with us, as well as some of her favorite county fair foods, and random facts about herself. Not sure why anyone would be surprised at her singing in the shower . . . I mean, doesn't everybody? (Grin)

So, here is why I am so into Butterscotch and Rose . . .

Sigh. I am absolutely overcome. This is indeed a gorgeous line of fabric! I can't believe it's all mine! Mine! (Oops, am I starting to sound like a seagull?)

Anyway, I also have one of the beautiful Fig Tree Quilts patterns, called "Blossom" and I intend to show off these lovelies with this quilt pattern! Check this out:

I'm going to be using Ole Frog Eyes to show my progress, so each time that I finish a block, I'll be placing it in my quilt over there. I'll holler when I have some for you to look at --- this way you get to see the quilt grow before your very eyes!

Thanks so much to Joanna Figueroa, and the lovely folks at Fig Tree Quilts! I'm one very happy quilter!!

Subscriber Spotlight - - Yvette!

Note: There's a giftie at the bottom....keep reading!

Our spotlight is shining today on one of our founding subscribers - Yvette!

I'd like for all of you to go (in a minute) and check out her quilts-in-progress on the OleFrogEyes site....she has FIVE, count 'em, five quilts there!

Grab that java and let's set a spell.

Got your PC fired up? Good!

Would you like a snack? I always say that you need strength for the strenuous work of quilting, patting fabric, admiring blocks, etc.
It just wouldn't do to "run out of steam" now, would it?
Here, have one fresh from the oven.....

Mmmmmmm.......ahem. Back to our spotlight.

Let's look at how our design wall helps Yvette with her spectacular blocks....go to her portion of the gallery, and click her personal avatar, and then click on her "Rainbow Jane." See how the block colors are arching up and then down, in the shape of a rainbow? Can you imagine having that laid out on your floor, and then your favorite furbaby walking in, ready to play? Oh, boy!

After you have admired that one, try clicking on her "Civil War" block of the week quilt. This one is interesting because she started it AFTER everyone else had done about twenty-five of the blocks! Yvette, and her pal Joy Denise (also one of our first subscribers) looked the problem square in the eye and ...

the light bulb went off!!
They decided to catch up! How, you ask?

First they made the block #25, A-N-D they made block #1. Then when it was time to make block #26, they also made block #2! See how the quilt is filling in? !!! Smart cookies! (Oh - I got a little distracted by our snacks...)

I'd also like to point you toward her Sylvia's Bridal Sampler....anybody here like blue? Ahhh, there you are - I see you waving! Well, me too! Check out how she has set off her blocks with a lattice and contrasting intersections....I like that!

Now, not all of you are subscribers, so you can't leave her comments below her quilts, but you CAN leave her some comment love here. If you like what you saw, tell her so, and Padsworth and I will make sure she sees your message!

In the meantime, be sure to check out our newest sponsor's new arrivals....the Fat Quarter Shop has "Children at Play" by Sarah Jane. Have you seen her designs? Check 'em out right here. That link will take you to her blog, and from there you can see lots of inspiring illustrations and goodies. (No, she doesn't know I'm giving her a shout out....I just love her designs and her new fabric!)

For those of you, my special peeps, who have stuck with me and kept reading, here is a little something for you... a chance to win a Sarah Jane Studios journal book, and a lovely card with envelope.

(I promise I only drooled on them a little.)
Can you blame me? I had those in my hand, and they were so cute, and then I was looking at the new Sarah Jane fabrics at the Fat Quarter Shop.....
Sigh.

Well, if you would like to have the journal and the card, just leave me a comment and tell me which of Yvette's quilts you love the best. And if you are a follower of Lilypadquilting, you can get another chance. We'll draw a happy winner on Saturday.

Good luck!

A fantastic upgrade for our subscribers - - only members of the OleFrogEyes community of quilters (don't you want to join us? Of course you do!) can take advantage of this new functionality on our site.

Do you like Peggy or Petunia's quilts? Then let them know - leave them some comment love!

Adore the colors on a Farmer's Wife sampler quilt? Let that quilter know about it!

Competing with a guild buddy on the same pattern? Indulge in a little competitive smack-talk! But remember, our sheriff will crack down on rough-housing, so mind your manners!!

At just $2.50 a month, our virtual design wall is a bargain! Ole Frog Eyes is a cool tool for quilters, giving us the ability to lay out blocks in cyberspace and adjust their placement to our liking. We can audition lattice colors and borders, too.

Check out this link for our Notes and Nibbles page, for a story-telling-style explanation of what we're all about. You'll be chuckling at the antics of Peggy and Petunia as they learn about OleFrogEyes!

Froggie Feet

Hi! I'm Jacque, and this is the inaugural post for the OleFrogEyes community of quilters! We're (Padsworth and I) hoping that our happy group will grow and grow.

Did I hear you ask, "Who is Padsworth?" Why, he's our mascot; see him up there on the right-hand side? He has asked me to fill in for him: he wanted a blog so badly, but honestly, just look at those froggie feet. Do you think he can navigate around a keyboard?!  :)  He'll be nudging me when he thinks a topic needs to be discussed, or when he sees someone post some awesome blocks on the OleFrogEyes site. He tells me he even has some giveaways planned, so stay tuned!

OleFrogEyes is a dynamite quilting tool - a virtual design wall for laying out a design, or keeping track of which colors you need to place in your next block. It can even serve as a template for stitching your blocks together, when you are working on a mega quilt like Dear Jane or Sylvia's Bridal Sampler.

Are you and a quilting friend working on the same project? Perhaps the popular Farmer's Wife quilt? You can see each other's progress so easily when you subscribe to Padsworth's site! I see some competitions starting here!

Are you unsure of what colors to use for your borders, or lattice? Create your quilt layout, upload some of your quilt blocks to OleFrogEyes, and then audition colors to your heart's content! You can play with your blocks in the intersections of the lattice, too! Padsworth seems to think of everything!

Want to join our community? Just hop on over, er, click on this URL: http://olefrogeyes.tfldd.net and sign up today! Padsworth has heard from many quilters that the price is really reasonable: for about the cost of just one fat quarter each month, you can show off six of your works in progress! See you there! Ribbit!
