We make a beautiful pear . . .

Update: This is the final day to enter our Fort Worth Fabric Studio giveaway, so click here to go and enter....

Yes, we are a beautiful pear. Me and my new pincushion, that is!

It's funny that I drooled over this on the Modern Scrappy Bits Swap group on Flickr, and wanted it for my very own. Then a box arrived that was filled with gorgeous modern fabric yumminess --- and this beauty:

I'm so happy it found its way to me!!

These are lovely scraps -- I see some well-known lines in this pretty pile-up!

And just look. Let's give the pear a chance to shine. Here you go, pear --- a starring role for you. Let everyone see how pretty you are!

Now I will be searching the internet for a pattern . . . I want to make one, too! It's so cute!
A big thank you to Leona for organizing a super swap!
Have you enjoyed any swaps lately?

Love,

Remember Service Men and Women campaign

If you are looking for our spectacular fifteen fat quarter bundle giveaway, click here and go to enter! Then come back here to read!

Padsworth and I are all in for the Remember our Service Men and Women campaign over at HopefulThreads and SewBittersweetDesigns . . .

I found some really happy fabric in my stash, and I made a pillowcase! I hope that whoever receives this will not think of it as being for a younger person, but will instead get a smile from it!

Ready? It stars our old friend, happy-dancer-extraordinaire, Snoopy!

Here is the finished pillowcase:

I'm off to score some more fabric from my stash --- I'm either going to make another pillowcase, or maybe an e-reader cover, from one of Melissa's great tutorials!

Join us, won't you? We'd love to have over one hundred gifts to send over!

Love,

Ducklings update!

Looking for our awesome fat quarter bundle giveaway? Click here!

Here is a note for you Lilypadquilters, from the eight ducklings:

We know these are not very good pictures, but we wanted to show you how we are growing . . .

We are about triple the size we were in this post, and we are even starting to get some feathers! Whoohooo! It won't be long before we can try to fly! (Someone is singing, "I Believe I Can Fly" in the background...)

We have games that we love to play -- Who Can Paddle Longest With Butt in the Air and Head Underwater is fun, and our favorite one is seeing Who Can Make the Biggest Splash in our little pool . . . that one is crazy fun when all eight of us are in the water at once!

We also like to spend time on the ledge of our "pool" just chillin' and enjoying the scenery. Snoodles says she will get more pictures of us soon, with a better camera! We'll get some glamour shots! Peep, peep!

Hi, y'all, I'm back! This is Snoodles, and I just want to let you know that Padsworth is working on a project announcement that will be ready soon. We are going to put together a project that will go with our Pets on Quilts show --- it will be something that you can do during the year to help shelters and animal rescue efforts that are local to you --- and you'll get credit for it when the show rolls around!
We're ironing out the details and will let you know as soon as possible!

Tho' I don't usually do this, because I get so many requests, this one is near and dear to my heart; I want to help our veterans and service members when I can. So, I wanted to pass along an effort from one of my followers for the veterans in her town --- perhaps you have some red, white, and blue blocks, or blocks left over from a Quilt of Valor project, or just something fun and colorful (and fast!) . . . Here is Tammara's message:
Love the blog and I have been following for awhile, I have been asked to make 35 lap quilts for our local veterans in the Birchwood nursing home in Traverse City, Michigan and I am wondering if you would like to make one for us? Nothing really fancy; just something to let them know we appreciate what they did. We are planning to deliver to them in December for Christmas. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, Tammara
Since it is lap quilts they are looking for, it shouldn't take long to put one together -- let me know in a comment if you can help, and I will introduce you by email to Tammara. Please make certain that I have your email to respond to you . . . nothing is more frustrating than seeing "no-reply" pop up, when I want to reply to you!!
I'm linking up with Katherines' Corner and The Thursday Favorite Things blog hop! Her co-host is Carol, at Everything Home with Carol!

Brand New Sponsor! (And a giveaway!)

UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed...thank you for your interest!
Woot! I'm so excited to introduce you to our newest sponsor --- their button has been on our left-hand sidebar for a while, but today we're ready to introduce you to Fort Worth Fabric Studio!!

The reason I am so excited about Jodie and Fort Worth Fabrics joining our Lilypad team is that this online store has so very much to offer! We quilters have an insatiable appetite for new and beautiful fabrics, ay? (I see heads nodding everywhere --- if you're like me you need to be careful about that, or people might hear your last few marbles rolling around in there. But I digress.)

Fort Worth Fabric Studio is a totally online store. Jodie makes it a point to bring in the latest and loveliest fabric lines from Moda, Riley Blake, Michael Miller, and more.

You'll find scads of gorgeous traditional fabrics, and lots of novelty fabrics and holiday offerings, too.

Need strip packs or bundles of batiks? They're here.

Extra-wide backing fabrics? Got those, too.

You might not believe me about all of this fabric variety, so go to this link and check it out! You'll have two choices --- a drop down menu, or do like I did . . . scroll down and scroll down, and, and, well, you get the picture! There are a lot of goodies there!

Fort Worth Fabrics has an interactive design wall, too, so that you can mix and match your fabric choices and make certain you are ordering just the right fabrics for your special project.

That's a screen shot, showing how you can compare fabrics and choose the perfect ones (Riley Blake fabrics are featured there).
Are you a bargain hunter? (Aren't we all?) Fort Worth Fabrics has Bargain Bundles, One Piece Left, and super sales categories, like $4.00 per yard!!

Fort Worth Fabric Studio has a heart and believes in paying it forward; making a contribution to worthy causes is important to Jodie. That's why you will find several worthwhile charities listed on her site, as she tries to help out and make a difference.

Here's another cool thing about Fort Worth Fabrics: every Friday, Jodie pulls together a really great bundle of fabrics, and offers that group for a super price! Some of them are themed bundles; some are grouped by color -- but they are all fabulous! Here is an example:

Speaking of fabulous . . . Padsworth, I was not really referring to you, but yes, you are fabulous, too (the things I put up with around here) . . . I want to show you a truly drool-worthy bundle that Fort Worth Fabric Studio is offering to one lucky Lilypadquilter! It's especially for us!

It's called Pink Lemonade . . .  will you just look at that? All those pinks, grays, and then the lemon-lime! There are fabrics there from Henry Glass, Michael Miller, Moda, Timeless Treasures, Free Spirit, Riley Blake and more (you can click on this link to see the entire list).  I told you it was drool-worthy!
Want to see it closer? (What a temptress I am!)

FIFTEEN glorious fat quarters! Thank you, Jodie, for such a generous giveaway!

How can you win these, you ask? Ahhh, here's how:

(Please keep in mind that doing only one of these is fine. You WILL be entered in the giveaway. However, if you wish to increase the "giveaway vibes" and increase your chances of winning, you can do as many of these as you would like to do!)

1. If you are a follower here, comment telling me so.
2. Follow Fort Worth Fabric Studio blog, and let me know.
3. While you're at the blog, leave her some comment love; tell me.
4. Sign up for the Fort Worth Fabric Studio newsletter. Click here to hop over there. Tell me you did.
5. Check out the online catalog and tell me what you see there that really gets your motor running!
6. "Like" Fort Worth Fabric Studio on Facebook and tell me.
7. Help us spread the word: blog, tweet, or post on Facebook about our giveaway! Leave me a comment that tells me, and gives me the URL where I can find it!

Whoo hoooo! This is exciting! We'll leave this giveaway open for a week, so it will end on next Tuesday, September 18, and we'll announce our winner on Wednesday, OK?

Let the comments begin!

Love,
