It will be a bittersweet time for us -- we've gotten attached to them! I thought you might like to see them once more. Of course, I'll try to get some photos when we release them at the lake, but ya never know!
The photos above show how their feathers are growing in. A great deal of their backs are still covered by soft down, but their shoulders and chests are getting covered by lovely feathers.
Here's another day in the life of the ducks:
So competitive . . .
Still enjoying the pool:
Still hungry:
Still trying new things:
Still keeping the cat on his toes:
And enjoying the companionship of the dogs:
Hope you enjoyed seeing the ducks again! More quilty stuff tomorrow!
Love,
Great images. I love the last one.
ReplyDeleteLol they're still so funny, I love their tiny wings. Photo #7 looks like their picking up scrounging-sad-face tips from the dog lol
ReplyDeleteLove the short wings shot. They are so cute. I love ducklings. Hope that they enjoy their last days of spoiling before the freedom of the lake.
ReplyDeleteYou have done a wonderful job, mama duck obviously knew the right place to leave her precious babies.
Great photos!! Hopefully they'll meet some other ducks on the lake that can show them the ropes
ReplyDeleteUmmm, they might not want to leave.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, I'm still amazed they get along with the other animals, napping by the dog is just too cute.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet - love that the cat and the dog get along with them - how sweet is that last photo!!
ReplyDeleteCute shot :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun they must be to watch! And the way you can read their minds ... amazing! You're a regular Dolittle!
ReplyDeleteJust in case you didn't know, something has changed with your blog's feed. It is suddenly only a partial feed. I'm not sure if that's intentional or accidental, so I'm just giving you a head's up.
Nooooooooo :( Can't you keep them? hehehehe
ReplyDeleteYou know I think they are the cutest =D
They are so dang cute...don't think I'd get much done with them around...so fun! They grow so fast!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! And your captions are too cute.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do just love the duck updates!
ReplyDeleteThey are so big! What will you and Padsworth do when your charges have flown the coup?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the ducklings! It will be hard when you have to say goodbye, I wonder if they will all go or if some will want to stay with you?
ReplyDeleteRuh-Roh Snoodles - I don't envy you! It would kill me to let those little guys go. At least they got a great start and will have fond memories - maybe some will summer-over back at your place!
