Nope, I am not referring to the special occasion for costumery, which falls on the thirty-first of the month. But that is a fun thing to play around with, no?
But I digress . . .
October is a month that is important for a cause that we here at the Lilypad hold very dear. It's dedicated to helping rescue pets find homes!!
It's a nationwide effort, and lots of local shelters are making sure their residents are prettied up and rested up, and ready to go to a sweet forever home!
And while I know that June was the "official" adopt a kitty month, I would be leaving out some of our bestest furriends if I didn't encourage y'all to stop and look at the cats at the shelter, too!
Maybe your home has room for one of each!
There are some great organizations that are helping out with this month's focus, and in the coming days we will shine a spotlight on some of them!

One ginger and one grey, I would take them both. But too far away, and already have 2 gingers and a silver tabby. Shelters, SPCA down here, and all other organisations are remarkable in what they do and need all the help they can get. Hope the rest of your October goes well.
ReplyDeleteMy furkids were rescues and I just love them to pieces. Our guild did a block drive (kitty and doggies) so we can assemble and donate a couple of quilts to our local shelter's auction fund raiser.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for that spotlight on adoptable shelter pets! xx
ReplyDeleteThose pets are so cute Jacque! We have three adopted rescue dogs, but if we had room, I'd adopt even more. Once you adopt, you don't want to do it any other way.
