"Farm Girl Vintage" blog hop

It's my turn on the Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along!! Thanks to Lori of Bee in My Bonnet, and the Fat Quarter Shop, some of us bloggers have been entertaining and enticing you on Fridays!

Each Friday another blogger has showcased one of the cute blocks in Lori's new book.

Today, I'm showing you my block -- Grandma's Quilt Block!  OOOPS!

You know we "keep it real" here at the Lilypad . . .  do you see anything wrong with my first block? Do you think I was in too much of a hurry at that point? (Grin)

I chose happy, summery colors that look a lot like reproduction prints -- they are actually from an older line by Mary Engelbreit, called "Friends and Flowers."

Love how these colors make me think of summer fun! Here is the completed block:

I actually put together three of these cute blocks, and thought I would put them on point for a table runner:

Now, I'm auditioning fabrics for the setting triangles:

What do you think?

Be sure to hop over to see more of the blocks that are detailed in the book!

Thanks, Lori, and thank you, Fat Quarter Shop! We've enjoyed being a part of Farm Girl Vintage Fridays!

  2. Entertain and Entice is right Jacque! LOL Your blocks are so pretty and the table runner is going to be terrific! (I'm partial to the red setting triangles, but then, I love red pretty much everywhere.)

  3. Ohhhh, I love, love, love your block! It is so colorful - and anything M.E. just melts my heart. I am a new quilter and I am having such a good time with Lori's book and all my stash. I have even purchased new fabric. SO MUCH FUN! I've made lots of mistakes, but I am learning from them, so that is good - right? Thank you for this sweet and colorful post. I am motivated!

  4. I love your table runner so far! What a great way to use this adorable block. I vote with Lara for the red setting fabric. A bonding from the blue stripe would be perfect!
