I received an email this weekend that I thought I would share with all of you. Do you remember last year, when Lilypadquilting was honored with the opportunity to host the Destash for Malawi?
We asked, and you answered! You sent bundles of fabric and thread so that a mission in Malawi could transform them into shorts and dresses for the orphan children who attend school there. We were humbled and overwhelmed and happy to be a part.
This past week, the clothing and food was distributed. Hundreds waited patiently for the desperately needed food stuffs:
The following pictures will show you some more of the happy faces this Christmas...the kids who received the clothing that you made possible.
If that doesn't chase the "Bah, humbug" away, I don't know what will!
Our thoughts and prayers are with these good folks as they labor in Africa, and also with the families trying to heal in Connecticut. Those of us who are blessed with warmth, food, and the bear hugs of our kids should be so grateful.
Merry Christmas!
