Sponsored Blog Hop - Colonial Needle (Now Closed)

Thank you so much for your interest.....this giveaway is now closed!

Welcome to the Colonial Needle Blog Hop! We have assembled a super panel of bloggers for your enjoyment! And we all have wonderful notions from the Colonial Needle Company to give away!

(Padsworth wanted to check out the giveaway prizes . . . excuse me, whilst I get him out of the box.)

Colonial Needle is one of the companies that sponsored the awesome Wantobe Quilter campaign last year, over at Sew We Quilt. They have an incredible array of notions, needles, tools, and even sewing baskets. You can check out their web site at this link, and you can always click on their badge on the sidebar here at Lilypadquilting, too.

Here's some notes from their web site --- you'll be amazed at the variety of products you can find there!

Our extensive collection of hand and machine needles, beading needles, weaving and specialty needles, and even industrial and specialty needles is unrivaled.
In addition to needles and notions, we have felting tools and wools, fun and easy felting kits, knitting needles, gift sets and helpful accessories.
Sewers, quilters and needleworkers will also enjoy our sewing and quilting notions and supplies including fasteners, hoops, measuring and cutting tools and pins of all sizes and styles.
If crafting is your passion, you can choose from an assortment of glues and colorful writing and craft pens for all of your craft projects.

Personally, I think the most wonderful things on their site are the "Pebbles" - but I bet you'll find your own favorites there.
Let me tell you a little about the Pebbles.  If you have reached into your sewing bag or tote just once and come out scratched, and possibly bleeding, then you need a Pebble! (Grin)   These little gems are packages of needles that close right up and protect you and the contents of your tote. You can get them in all types of needles, and our bloggers will be telling you more about those as the week goes along.

They were incredibly generous with their sponsorship, and I was able to divide up the items and ask some wonderful bloggers to help me out.  Here is the schedule of our hop:

Sunday, April 15 – Snoodles at Lilypadquilting (that's me!)
Monday, April 16 –SewCalGal
Tuesday, April 17 – Gene Black
Wednesday, April 18 –HillbillyHandiworks
Thursday, April 19 – SewBittersweet Designs
Friday, April 20 – It’s So Kiki
Saturday, April 21 – Love Affair with my Brother
Sunday, April 22 – Catpatches

I sure hope you are still with me, because we'll have a giveaway here, too! Here is a package of prizes that TWO lucky winners will receive:

Safety pins, tape measure, magnet, seam ripper, needles and more!
And they'll also receive one of these Colonial Needle Pebbles, too!

So do you want to win? Well, we love our followers, so please leave us a comment if you follow, for one entry in the giveaway.  For another chance to win, tell me if you use a thimble --- whether you are hand-quilting, embroidering, or whatever; do you use a thimble?

We'll leave this one open til Saturday at midnight, and announce the winner on Sunday, April 22!

Good luck!

Love,

Pets on Quilts Show -- 2012 edition

It's coming! In August! It's the Pets on Quilts Show! Yippeee!

Our very own Padsworth will be the master of ceremonies for the show, and we are hoping that lots of you will enter and enjoy the show.

SewCalGal did a tremendous job of organizing and hosting the show for several years, and we have accepted the challenge and responsibility of this year's show.
We'll be updating our Pets On Quilts page pretty frequently; it's found at the tab at the top of this page.

We'll have two categories --- one for real furbabies posing on quilts, and the other for quilts that feature critters of all kinds! So start thinking about your entry for the show!

There will be lots and lots of prizes --- it's going to be a fun party! There'll be lots of ways to win the prizes . . . being a PR angel, and visiting the entries, and more. Why, you'll even get one entry for posting your contest photo in the linky party!

You won't want to miss it! Stay tuned!

Another Package in the Mail - I won!

(Have I been a good kid, or what? LOL)

I was so thrilled when Leona employed Mr. Random to pick her winner in the 1,000 Follower Giveaway that she hosted --- he picked lil ole me!

Look at all the goodies!

It was already a fabulous giveaway when she posted it, but then she added some extras!  Love that Michael Miller pink fabric, and the apron panel is going to be made up right away -- I need me some elegance in the kitchen! (Wink) Those charm squares are going into a tote, using that zipper, and the rest will be in a Moda Bake Shop runner I have been wanting to make!

And there are TWO spools of yummy variegated thread -- it's the King Tut thread from Superior! Yay! Can't wait to try it....she put in some needles and patterns, and whew! I need to catch my breath!

Hey! I guess you see who is trying to nab my chocolate that Leona put in.  She must be psychic, since it's extra dark, and that is the kind that I prefer!

I hope that you will visit Leona at her blog, Leona's Quilting Adventures, and see her marvelous modern blocks. She is like me, since she works full time and then does her quilting and blogging!  I get inspiration from her posts --- I think you'll love her colorful modern designs!

Thanks again, Leona!
(I'm linking up today with Katherine's Corner, and her Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop!    Co-hosting today is Golden Lily Crafts!)

A squishy in the mail!

I think that all quilters love to get what we call "squishies" in the mail, don't we? Whether it's fabric that we sneakily ordered (ooh, do I HAVE to list that on my Stash-In list?) or giveaway goodies, or sometimes a special gift from a good friend.

I'm lucky to call Sasha (she blogs over at Stitched by Sasha) my friend. I think that if we lived near each other, we'd be having quilting or sewing days together now and then, and calling to check on each other's kitties if they felt bad! Isn't that one of the lovely things about blogland? We have such a great community of quilters and sewists and crafters.

Sasha makes the cutest bags and stocks her local yarn shop. She does that, and then also tries to stock an etsy shop --- here is why it's hard for her:

They're so cute I bet they sell super fast!
And she makes these:

"This is the sto-ree. . . of some sad crochet hooks . . ." Imagine that sung to the tune of the Brady Bunch. Well, they really WERE sad! They lived all jumbled together in a very tattered zippy bag. They didn't have a home of their own.

Pfffffttttt! Sasha to the rescue! Now the crochet hooks have a home of their own, with separate compartments for each one.

They look happy, don't they? (Grin)  Just look at those happy faces.

Now Snoodles is happy, too! There's a space for my ruler, and my pen to make notes, and there's even a zipper pocket on the front for more supplies:

And I love, love the fabric! Kitties!

Thank you, Sasha, for my crochet hook case! I am over-the-top crazy about it! Thank you, my friend!

Love,
