Pawsitive thoughts
Just a quick update and a sincere "Thank you" to all of you -- all of the purrs and prayers have been much appreciated!
Moses' blood work does not look good. His white blood cells are high, and his albumin is low; coupled with the mass in his tummy, the doc says he is reasonably sure this is cancer.
Now we move to phase two . . . trying to see what we can do to maintain a good quality of life in an elderly cat. He's probably not a good candidate for surgery, but research has brought up some ideas of meds that might slow the growth of the tumor, and increase his appetite, so that he can be more comfortable and enjoy life here in the studio.
After all, what would I do without his help in arranging my quilt blocks? (Grin)
And he is a great duckling baby-sitter, too!
Please keep those pawsitive thoughts coming as we try to come up with a strategy for Moses. We're not ready yet to throw in the towel, though we know that day will come. Hopefully he has some time left with us. We want to do the right thing for an old friend.
Love,

ReplyDeleteOh Jacque, I'm sorry it wasn't better news. Hopefully the Vet can come up with a plan to slow it down and keep Moses pain free, meanwhile lots of love and cuddles when Mr. Grumpy allows it.
ReplyDeletePrayers and hugs for both of you.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm sad to read this though I guess I knew the news was coming. Having our fur babies age is so hard. Big hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear your news, but definitely will keep praying for you and sweet Moses! We were at that place two years ago with our dear Gypsy so I know how it feels to face that future. With lots of good care and help from our vet, we were able to have her with us for much longer than we expected. Every day is a blessing! And you already know that the Lord will help you know in your heart when the time is right, so you can just relax and enjoy him for as long as he is with you =^..^=
ReplyDeleteAt times like this I wish I had Magic Pixie Dust. Sending pawsitive thoughts and plenty of purr prayers that sweet Moses will have plenty of pain free days to share more love and fun with you and your family.

ReplyDeleteOur friend Austin told us you were not feeling well Moses so we thought we'd pop over and give you a HUG and tell you we have added you to our "sending happy thoughts/prayer" list! I'm almost 17 and have health issues but not as serious as yours are.....We cats are amazing critters though and can keep on going as long as we want or need to. I hope you will be comfortable and feel all the love that you are getting there in your studio making you stronger. Take care Moses...
