I started to title this "my new best friend" but then I realized that Padsworth and DragonDrop would probably both get a little huffy about that . . . (wink) So, this is my sewing machine's new bestie --- I love, love it, and I am wondering why it took me so long to get one of these!!
Yep, you guessed it; it is a quarter inch foot!! This has taken all of the fussing, er, stomping, er, guesswork, uh, trial and error out of my piecing! Yay! Perfect quarter inch seams and perfect matches in my blocks! I will stand up and be a witness --- you can quote me on it --- if you've had trouble keeping that quarter inch seam stitched correctly, you should get one of these! Love,
I've never even heard of this! I hate when my quarter inch allowances are that *smidgen* off. Doesn't seem like a big deal but when it happens a couple times, your whole block/quilt can be off. Is it pretty universal (like the invisible zipper feet you can get in the store) or do brands each have their own?
I am so happy to hear from you! I try to respond to all comments, but lately blogger has made that difficult! If you do not receive a reply, it may be because your profile is set on "no-reply". Oh yes....I have had many if these feet over the years...and when you get the perfect one, there is nothing better! Enjoy perfectly precise piecing!
ReplyDeleteI felt the same when I got mine, why did I not get one sooner! They certainly make life easier. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteAwe, does your make the perfect 1/4", that's awesome. I know they all can vary a little....I actually need to measure mine.
ReplyDeleteI do like it though. Hope you had a beautiful Thanksgiving. God bless!
I have one, and I have another that doesn't have the guide. Since I am lazy about changing feet, I usually use the one without the guide. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering too what took you so long. I can't sew without mine anymore. Congrats on discovering it.
ReplyDeletewow!!! you are going to love it! I really don't know what I'd do without :)
ReplyDeleteMy machine came with one, and I absolutely love it!
ReplyDeleteYeah for you. I've never not had one and would never consider piecing without it.
ReplyDeleteOh what a wonderful new friend! I'd like one of those. :)
ReplyDeleteI never knew about this! I'm checking into it...would make a great stocking stuffer ;O)
ReplyDeleteHow did you get along without it? They are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteA quilter without a 1/4 inch foot is like a bird without wings!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I couldn't survive without my quarter inch foot! Glad you are enjoying yours!
ReplyDeleteI have one, but yours is more complicated and fancy than mine. I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh congrats on your new 1/4" foot!!!! It will make piecing so much easier =D
ReplyDeleteI love mine, too. I have two different ones, one has a guide and the other does not! It makes a big difference!
ReplyDeleteI love mine, as well. I do not know how people piece without one! I am just not that talented!
ReplyDeleteI love my quarter inch foot...glad you have one...
ReplyDeleteI honestly would not use my new sewing machine until my 1/4" foot arrived- it's absolutely essential!
ReplyDeleteThe quarter inch foot is the best!
