Every moment that I can steal away and quilt, I've been working on my wall-hanging . . . but in spite of my best intentions, that has not been as often or as much as I would like. But I thought I would show you a peek at how it's progressing!
I'm no expert at the free motion quilting that I admire other people doing, but I think I'm getting better at one part of it --- meandering (or stippling, as some people call it).
Tell me what you think (please be kind!):
I'm filling in an area with adorable animals and Christmas ornaments, and I'm trying to avoid stitching over them! I think they are so cute that I want them to show up with no stitches across their little faces and bodies!
I'm hoping to be able to reveal the whole wall-hanging soon!
Love,
I think it is looking lovely so far - I too am new to free motion quilting it is quite scary isnt it! I have two quilts I have finished but am too scared to quilt in case I ruin them - need to practice on small projects first I think!
ReplyDeleteI think your free motion quilting is great. I love the little animals and can't wait to see the finished project. Susie x
ReplyDeleteIt looks fine to me. I think only quilters notice it that much unless it is extremely fancy quilting. When I am avoiding quilting over something I usually add an outline around it (of course with me that sometimes means I stitch over it because I got going too fast.)
ReplyDeleteYour FMQ is looking awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking good so far!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me!
ReplyDeleteI think your fmq looks marvelous and I'm anxious to see the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteI think it's fabulous!! I have yet to master FMQ on my machine so I admire you for sharing it with us :-)
ReplyDeleteYour FMQ is looking great...look forward to seeing your wall hanging all finished!
ReplyDeleteGood with the quilting, they say it just takes practice, and if you have the patience and courage, that's a good bit!
ReplyDeleteI think your quilting looks wonderful!!! And that fabric is so cute! I can't wait to see it all finished up =D
ReplyDeleteBy Jove, I think you've got it! Seriously, your quilting looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove, Thing I
Your fmq looks beautiful!! The fabric is so cute - I wouldn't stitch over the little critters either.
ReplyDeleteYour stitches look really nice. I am signed up this Thurs for a free motion quilting class. Three of my friends are going. It should be alot of fun. Hopefully not so much fun that we don't learn anything. I am quite excited. I did take one other class a couple of years ago but the class was way to big and I didn't get the chance to practice as I had to get back to work. This time there is just the four of us and I am off work for the winter. We are also signed up for another class in Nov. I am determined to learn this. You are doing a wonderful job. Wish me luck also.
ReplyDeleteYour quilting looks great!!!! Can't wait for the big reveal!
