Ribbit!
Hi, it's me, Padsworth, and I am the official master of ceremonies for the 2012 Pets on Quilts Show!
It's coming up soon, so I wanted to let you know some important "stuff" so that you can complete your preparations for the show.
I hope you are working on quilts, and working on posing pets, and all that good stuff! This is a show for bloggers and non-bloggers alike, so let's get started with some details!
A Pets show is all about winners, and ours is no exception --- we will have Viewers Choice awards, and random winners, too!
Starting on August 1, I'm going to host a linky party here at Lilypadquilting, where you can link up and show off your handiwork and your furbabies. That linky party will be open for one week, until the morning of August 9. At that point, the linkies will be closed, and voting will begin. We will leave the voting open through the weekend (through Sunday, the 12th) so that all of our friends can participate. Then, a couple of days later (probably the 14th) we will have our announcements of winners. (Isn't this exciting? It's almost more than a frog can stand!)
(This is one of last year's entries, called "Snooze and Lose" by Barbara, who blogs at Catpatches. Thanks for letting me use your photo!)
The linky that you post will need to point directly to the post on your blog that includes your entry -- not just to your blog. For non-bloggers, your linky will need to point to your Flickr post of your photo.
Here are the categories for entries:
- dog on quilt/ dog themed quilt
- cat on quilt/ cat themed quilt
- other pet on quilt/ other pet themed quilt
- Best EQ pet theme quilt design
- Best Art quilt
There will be one winner from each of these categories, determined by viewer votes.
Then, we will have random winners, and these will be chosen from peeps who leave comments saying that they did some of these things:
- Be a PR Angel (post the badge, blog about the show)
- Enter the show
- View the show
- Vote for Viewers Choice awards
- Followers who view the show
- Take the time to visit all of the entries and leave comment love
Obviously, the more of these things you have time to do, the more chances you have to win!
( This is another of the 2011 entries - this adorable photo is from Bonnie, who blogs at Southern Style. Thanks for letting me use the photo!)
Ribbit! Snoodles just reminded me that I need to say this: You have the opportunity to add one link per person in the linky party -- your post can include more than one photo entry, but only one link should be placed into the party. (Did I say that clearly?)
Now, don't despair if you don't have a Flickr account. We (Snoodles and me) have one for OleFrogEyes, and we will arrange to host your pictures there if you need for us to do that. Please bear with us, though, and let us have time to get your picture up there, OK? (Grin)
This show is always a delightful time of fellowship in our quilting community. Let's have a blast and enjoy it. (Remember when leaving comments for contestants that you want to channel your inner Thumper.....if ya can't say sumpin nice, don't say nothin' at all....)
I hope you've been enjoying the posts that Snoodles has done, spotlighting our generous sponsors....we couldn't have this show without them, and without you, too. Please be sure to visit them and let them know you appreciate their support!
If I have left out anything, or you have any questions, please leave a comment, and we'll address it right away!
Love,
Noted! Got my picture for one category done, working on two more- I'm planning on entering all but the cat (I don't have a cat) one... The EQ one then- does that just need to be a pattern you've made on EQ or do you have to finish the quilt too?
ReplyDeleteHope that's not a daft question :)
Oh my! August has sneaked up on me. I have to get ready for this. I will definitely be posting about this on my blog/. I already have the badge there.
ReplyDeleteWoo-Hoo, can't wait, I started blogging just so I could join this show last year. It's the best!
ReplyDeleteWoot! Tha button needs to be moved to the top of the list - I got too many buttons on the side bar. Gettin' ready, but my pose pals are being difficult - they aren't allowed on the quilts, so they are a bit confused!
ReplyDeleteOh yes Aug is sneaking up fast sew will have to get my pet and quilts organised. I have the button on my side bar...
ReplyDeleteReady at this end!
ReplyDeleteBeen waiting patiently since I heard about this! Thanks for hosting such a fun project!
ReplyDeletePlease share this with all your quilting, knitting and crocheting friends. I have set up a site so we can all come together and wrap the Aurora first responders and survivors in quilts of love. I have already begun getting commitments for quilts as well as postage to help those that can quilt but can't afford to mail:

ReplyDeleteI am going to love the MC of this years show...he better show up on a quilt though!
ReplyDeleteGot my button up! This is going to be fun :)
ReplyDeleteButton up...started spreading the word on my blog tonite - this is going to be fun!
ReplyDeleteI have a photo of cats on a quilt that I would love to enter, but it is not a quilt that I made. So my question is: does the quilt have to be made by me, or can it be one that was purchased?
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be so much fun! I loved all the entries last year!
ReplyDeleteWow, I better get busy. I have a few photos, I just need to find them and post them! I already have the button on my blog.
ReplyDeleteWhere do I go to link up with Pets on Quilts?
ReplyDeleteThank you
I have the button in my sidebar and I've mentioned Pet on Quilts in a couple of posts as well. =)
ReplyDeleteI posted a quick write up on the event at the end of June on my blog Sew Many Blocks. http://www.sewmanyblocks.com/contests-events/201-quilt-happenings
